Chloe impressively lies ninth in F1 Academy standings after opening six races

Chloe Grant resumes F1 Academy action in Barcelona later this month (19-21 May) hugely boosted after scoring two top-seven placings – including a superb fourth place in the latest races.
The Perth 17-year-old began Race 1 at Valencia in Spain from an excellent third on the 15-car grid and came home a brilliant fourth after 17-laps. Grant, the best-placed British driver in both instances, was denied a podium finish by less than four-seconds in only her fourth F1 Academy race.
Beginning Race 2 on Saturday from sixth place, Ecurie Ecosse “driver” Grant recorded a solid seventh place prior to crossing the finishing line fifth in the third race on Sunday after another third-row start.
Unfortunately, Chloe was subsequently given post-race penalties but heads to Barcelona after two days of testing at Valencia (8-9 May), impressively placed ninth in the championship standings.
Her season is supported by Laser Tools, John Clark Motor Group, Kevin Cuthbert PT, Island Leisure Lodges, and Fierce Sports Racing.

Chloe reflects: “Overall it’s been a good weekend. I’ve shown in Valencia that I have the pace, that I’m a big contender in the series and will become even stronger with more mileage in the car and experience with the team.
“Saturday was a really good day with a fourth and seventh, scoring solid points in both races. I lost a position in both races at the start but from then on, my pace was very good coming home fourth, my best result so far in the series, and seventh.
“Race 3 was a mixed combination of emotions. I took the chequered flag in fifth, which was another good, solid result, but unfortunately, I collected penalties dropping me to P11.
“I’ve gone from P14 to ninth in the championship standings and aim to progress with every race starting at Barcelona later this month.”
